Since Samuel Zwemer first opened the Arabian Mission dispensary in the 1890’s American Mission Hospital has been an integral part of the community of Bahrain.
Over the years, the experience of our doctors and nurses has been used to benefit the community by spreading awareness of health issues and helping those less fortunate.
We strongly believe that providing health awareness and support to the community is a part of our mission and are privileged to have the backing of sponsors such as BMI Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, and the Rashid Group who have identified health awareness as a key element in their Corporate Social Responsibility programs.
We co-operate with the Ministry of Health where permission and collaboration are required. We also have the support of the Ministry of Social Development in our community initiatives and are pleased with this continuing association.
We also produce our Family Health magazine 3 times a year with the aim of improving health awareness in the community.
American Mission Hospital provides assistance to the community of Bahrain by providing health checks, educational talks, and demonstrations.
These are provided free by AMH although in the past 2- 3 years various financial organizations have provided us with funds to enable us to take health awareness into the community.
This also helps those financial organizations such as banks to meet some of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) aims.
